The Maryland Athletic Information technology (IT) System Administrator is responsible for providing system- and network-related solutions for the athletics department information-technology assets. They oversee the functioning of networking equipment and follow strict maintenance standards. Their experience in the IT and networking fields is also used to develop new strategies to optimize wireless and visual communication platforms i.e. Cisco Stadium Wireless and Cisco Vision Visual Communication platform. He/She would work with other Division of Information Technology members, supervisors, and end-users to work on connectivity problems. IT network administrator will also manage complex system requirements and create technical documentation for users and perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
- Bachelor's of Science degree from an accredited institution or equivalent ex work experience.
- A minimum of four (4) to six (6) years full-time experience as a system administrator deploying, integrating, and maintaining devices running Windows or Mac operating systems in an enterprise environment.
- A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a network administrator for an arena environment; experience must include installing, configuring, and securing Cisco routers, switches and wireless controllers and encoders in a highly available multi-site enterprise; candidate must have experience managing and maintaining an enterprise Digital Signage solution.
- Experience deploying, integrating, maintaining, and securing windows, Macintosh, Cisco switches, routers wireless controllers and media players; deploying software and managing PCs policies with SCCM and/or Intune and Macs policies with JAMF.
- Experience supporting collegiate athletic solutions like Stat Crew and support applications like StatBroadcast; enforcing configuration standards using Group Policy and Microsoft
System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is required. Hands-on experience configuring
ports on network devices required. - Significant experience and understanding of Cisco technologies including routing protocols, (BGP, EIGRP), CISCO ASA, QoS, Layer 2 & 3 switching and VLANS, data center and enterprise switching and WAN design best practice.
- The position has a 24×7 support requirement, so the incumbent must be willing, able, and available to participate in a regular on-call rotation, work a flexible schedule, and respond to out-of-band emergencies when the need arises.
