Throughout the 2018-19 season, umterps.com will run a Q&A series with members of the Maryland wrestling team and staff. Fans will get to know more about their background and wrestling history, as well as some fun facts they may not have known before. Next up: freshman Jarod Kosman!

On winning a state championship in high school:
"It was great. That was always a goal of mine growing up, so it was an amazing feeling to accomplish something like that. It shows that all of your hard work has paid off and that your training was worth it." 

On why he came to Maryland:
"Definitely the atmosphere. I also really like all the resources Maryland provides for every aspect of the college experience. Things like tutors, mentors, study hall hours, advisors -- all of those things. When I was visiting, Coach McCoy told me it's very hard to not succeed here, and that definitely appealed to me." 

On what he likes about College Park:
"Along with all the services we get as student-athletes, I love how close we are to D.C., I'm excited about the internship opportunities the location provides us with, and I just love this area. I always have."

On what he's most excited about for this season:
"Definitely seeing the team develop. I think this team has the ability to do a lot of great things. I'm also looking forward to getting my first collegiate matches underway. It should be a lot of fun."

On his goals for this season:
"I really want to get stronger. I think our strength and conditioning coach, Will Franco, has done a great job helping me so far. With wrestling itself I want to focus more on my offense and trying to perfect all of the things I learned in high school." 

On his best wrestling memory:
"Winning nationals this past year."

Hobbies outside of wrestling:
"I really like going to the beach, boating and swimming. I live close to the beach so I do those things a lot during the summer."

"Definitely Marathon Deli"

"Talladega Nights"
