
Holliday Named B1G Defensive Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior goalkeeper Sarah Holliday of the third-ranked Maryland field hockey team (5-0) was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday after a stellar performance over the weekend.
This marks Holliday's second career weekly honor, after she was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16, 2016.
Maryland held off a second half push by then-No. 3 Duke (3-1) Sunday for a 4-3 victory in the B1G/ACC Cup at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. With the win, the Terrapins are off to their best start since 2013.
Holliday made 10 saves to preserve Maryland's top five win, including three in the last 12 minutes to preserve the victory.
No. 12 Northwestern beat No. 13 Boston College, 2-1, in double overtime in Sunday's first game. Maryland and Northwestern combined to go 3-1 in the B1G/ACC Cup.
The Terps moved up to No. 3 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.
Maryland will host No. 12 Delaware, No.17 Harvard and American in the Terrapin Invitational next weekend. The Terps take on the Blue Hens at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by Harvard vs. American at 1:30 p.m. Maryland plays Harvard at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, then American takes on Delaware after.
Admission and parking will be free for all four games.
Only Saturday's Maryland-Delaware game will streamed live online through BTN Plus. The other three games will not be streamed online. The Terps-Blue Hens matchup can be seen on BTN2Go.com and the BTN2Go app. Fans can watch with their BTN Plus subscriptions. Fans outside the U.S. can watch here.
