Terps Start Strong at Kiawah, Knade Atop Leaderboard

KIAWAH, S.C. -- Junior Peter Knade of the Maryland men's golf team shot a two-under 70 today in rainy conditions at the 2018 Ocean Course Invitational to place him atop the individual leaderboard after day one. Maryland is currently six over par as a team, good for third on the leaderboard going into the second round.

Knade received Big Ten preseason honors in late August. He ended last season with a bid to compete individually at NCAA regionals with former teammate David Kocher and finished with a final score of 229 (81, 74, 74), which was +16.

Junior Christian Park shot a two-over 74 today and is currently ranked tied for 16^th on the individual leaderboard. Senior Timothy Colanta, freshman Dillon Brown and redshirt junior Evan Santa each shot three-over-par 75s today to land them tied for 28^th in the individual standings.

Junior Chris Lane, competing as an individual, shot a six-over 78 today, placing him tied for 49^th individually.

The Terps begin their second round tomorrow with a 9:40 a.m. tee off. Live scoring is available here.
