Coordinator of Player Development - Football

Coordinator of Player Development will work in conjunction with and report to the Director of Player Development to assist in implementing personal development initiatives and community service activities, (ie, connect student-athletes with internships for training, work experience and practical skills in preparation for meaningful employment, work with past letterman and corporations to encourage players to be civically engaged in the community, conduct life skills seminars, financial education, work with the Assistant Athletic Director of ASCDU (Academic Support and Career Development Unit) with educational workshops); assist with the transition into the collegiate environment; introduce and monitor T.E.A.M. (Trust, Enthusiasm, Accountability and Mental Toughness); serve as the liaison between student-athletes and internal/external departments/agencies as it relates to player development; refer student to appropriate university departments or external agency and ensure proper support is given; assist the Director of Operations and the Director of Player Development with High School to College Transition; Assist with student athlete housing assignments; Assist with scheduling and implementation of life skill programs; Assist and implement student athlete volunteer programs and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree with previous life skills management, leadership and/or mentoring experience required. Applicant should be knowledgeable about the needs of student-athletes to succeed in a highly academic environment.
A minimum of three years of previous life skills management, leadership and/or mentoring experience preferably with student-athlete development. Knowledge of NCAA and Big Ten Conference eligibility rules is preferred. Preference given to candidates familiar with the collegiate football environment.
