St. Clair Signs with MLS, Former Terps Set for MLS Combine

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland redshirt junior goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair has signed with MLS as a member of Generation adidas, the league announced Friday. St. Clair is now available for selection at The MLS SuperDraft, which will take place on Jan. 11 in Chicago.

Generation adidas is a joint program between MLS and adidas which sees a handful of top collegiate underclassmen and youth national team players signed by MLS to Generation adidas contracts and made available in the SuperDraft. Prior to 2005, the program was known as Project-40. Maryland has produced 14 Generation Adidas signees since the program was introduced in 1997, including future World Cup participants Omar Gonzalez, Maurice Edu, Clarence Goodson and Rodney Wallace.

St. Clair started every match in goal for the Terps over the past two seasons, including all 23 in Maryland's National Championship campaign this season. The Pickering, Ontario native did not give up a goal for the final 500 minutes of the season and finished third in the nation in shutouts (13). He led the nation in goalie minutes played (2,194) and was 11th in the nation in goals against average (0.66).

St. Clair will participate in the MLS Player Combine with fellow former Terps Amar Sejdic, Andrew Samuels, Sebastian Elney and Chase Gasper from Jan 4-9 in Orlando, Fla. Fans can watch the games between Combine participants, beginning on Saturday on MLSsoccer.com. Team Copa vs. Team Nemeziz kick things off at 12:30 pm ET, followed by Team Predator vs. Team X at 2:45 pm ET. Fans can also watch the action on MLS's YouTube, Facebook and Twitter pages.

On Wednesday, the second matchday will kick off, with a tournament-style conclusion to the proceedings. The winning teams of Saturday's matches will square off at 10 am ET, while the other two teams will wrap up the game action with their meeting at 12:15 pm. St. Clair and Elney will suit up for Team Copa, Sejdic for Team Nemeziz, Samuels for Team Predator and Gasper for Team X.
