Hello Terp Nation,
Fall is finally here and our sports teams are off to a great start. On the playing field and in the classroom - Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Football, Golf, and Tennis are providing opportunities to gather, cheer, and celebrate. Basketball season is right around the corner and our men's and women's programs are once again garnering preseason national attention.
As we move into full gear with schedules and annual membership goals, I would like to thank and recognize our 2019-20 Terrapin Club Board of Directors. This very passionate and turtle-loving group is working on behalf of all of the members of the Terrapin Club and our student-athletes in assisting and advising our professional staff. All of us want the Terrapin Club to be great. We all want the Terrapin Club to grow. We all want our fellow members to be proud. And all of us are reminding everyone that 100% of every dollar received by the Terrapin Club supports the scholarships of 500+ student athletes (monies received do not pay salaries or expenses).
In August, we launched our NATIONWIDE Terps 10,000 campaign. Individuals who join the Terrapin Club at the Bronze level or higher will receive a Maryland Terrapin Club branded flag to proudly fly. Since launch, we have gained over 200 new members. Please help us expand our base and share the Terps10K.com website and Terrapin Club message with family, friends and colleagues near and far. Bronze level memberships start at just $55 per year - that's less than $5 a month!
The weekend of Nov. 2 we will celebrate homecoming with our Terps taking on Michigan. Plan your weekend stay at The Hotel or the College Park Marriott (Terrapin Club Members receive discounts at both locations - check out TerrapinClub.com/benefits for full details).
On Nov. 5 we have a basketball double header with our women opening the season at home against Wagner at 11 AM for Field Trip Day! Over 5,000 elementary school kids will head to campus for a fun-filled day. Take the day and rediscover campus before the Men's Basketball home opener against Holy Cross at 7:30 PM.
Nov. 8 is "Terrapin Club Night" as Maryland Volleyball takes on Minnesota. Come and experience the Pavilion! Terrapin Club Members receive complimentary admission for themselves and up to four guests.
On Nov. 12, the Babe Ruth Museum salutes Johnny Holliday, now in his 41st season behind the Maryland microphone. The BWI Marriott is the venue for the event and we hope that many Terrapin Club Members will attend. For more information and for tickets, visit TerrapinClub.com/HollidaySalute.
