COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland volleyball team fell to #8 Penn State on Saturday night in three sets, 19-25, 20-25, 22-25.
The match was the seventh-highest attended home match in the history of the program with 3,110 fans in attendance at the XFINITY Center Main Arena, the most since 3,742 fans watched Maryland play Michigan State on Oct. 21, 2017. Last week in the XFINITY Center Pavilion, 2,225 fans attended Maryland's three-set loss to then-No. 5 Nebraska, breaking the previous Pavilion record of 1,848 set against Wisconsin on November 17, 2018.
Despite winning four of its last six matches, Maryland couldn't keep the momentum rolling on Saturday night as the team couldn't secure a set win. The last time the two teams met, Maryland took two sets from Penn State in State College, the first set wins at Penn State since 1983.

Myers, Rath, and Allegra Rivas all finished the night with one service ace apeice, Myers led the team with three blocks, and Rivas paced the squad with 11 digs. Nicole Alford tallied a team-high 16 assists while Samantha Snyder added 11.
Next, Maryland travels to Madison, Wis. to face the sixth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 8:00 PM. The Terps return home on Nov. 8 to face Minnesota.
