Terps Fall to Michigan, 3-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland volleyball team fell to Michigan on Friday night in three sets, 17-25, 21-25, 25-27.

Despite hitting over .200 (.211) and outblocking the Wolverines 11-6, the Terps couldn't squeeze out a set win in front of the largest crowd in the XFINITY Center Pavilion this season (1,145). Maryland had a better night on the service line, finishing the night with six service aces, four from Katie Myers and two more from Sam Snyder.

Junior outside hitter Erika Pritchard led the team in kills with 13, the only Terp with double-digit kills on the night. Rebekah Rath added seven while Katie Myers contributed five.

Myers led the team in blocks with seven, Pritchard tied her season-high with five, and Emma Schriner notched three blocks on the night.

Nicole Alford and Samantha Snyder both tallied 12 assists in the match, and Allegra Rivas led the team with eight digs.

Saturday, Maryland will host Michigan State at the XFINITY Center Pavilion in College Park at 7 p.m. The Spartans beat Maryland 3-0 in their last meeting.
