COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland volleyball team held its senior day on Sunday in the Terps' home finale, dropping the match 3-2 to Northwestern.
Maryland had the edge in aces (10) and blocks (13), but Northwestern edged the Terps in hitting % (.243), kills (66), assists (61), and digs (77).
Katie Myers led the team in kills (18) and hit .586, her third-best hitting % of the season. Myers also led the team with four aces, her third match of the season with 4+ aces.
Jada Gardner added 13 kills while
Rebekah Rath contributed 12.
Gardner also tallied a team-high nine blocks, the most of her career, while
Rainelle Jones notched eight.
Nicole Alford led the team in assists (47) and digs (19).
Next, Maryland hits the road for the team's last two matches of the season, visiting Nebraska on Friday before closing the 2019 campaign with a match at Iowa.
