Volleyball Drops Match At Ohio State

COLUMBUS – The University of Maryland volleyball team fell to Ohio State on Saturday night in three sets, 18-25, 18-25, 28-30.

In the Terps' second meeting with the Buckeyes this season, Maryland's attack was shut down much like it was in the first meeting. The Terps hit just .121 on the evening, tallying just 32 kills – more than the last two matches – but the fourth-lowest mark this season. Maryland's rotation did look a little different than usual – Chloe Prejean stepped in for Nicole Alford, and Rebekah Rath returned to the starting rotation for DS Sam Burgio.

Junior outside hitter Erika Pritchard led the team with 12 kills, the only Terp with double-digit kills on the night. Jada Gardner added six and Rainelle Jones contributed five.

Katie Myers led the team with two aces, continuing her hot streak from the service line, while Samantha Snyder – the Big Ten leader in total aces – added another. Myers also led the team in blocks with four, while Jones and Pritchard each tallied three.

Chloe Prejean paced the team with 14 assists, while Snyder finished with 11. Allegra Rivas led the team with 15 digs while Pritchard and Snyder added eight each.

Up next, Maryland returns to the weekend match format in which it hosts Minnesota and Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9, respectively. Both Minnesota and Wisconsin were ranked in the top-10 of last week's AVCA poll.
