ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sophomore Virunpat Olankitkunchai of the Maryland women's golf team was named Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week Wednesday for her second career weekly honor.Â

Olankitkunchai led the Terps with a final score of 211 (71-73-67) five strokes under Tuesday in the Moon Golf Invitational at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla. She finished tied for 5th place out of 90 participants for her fourth top-six finish this year.

As a team, the Terrapins finished fifth out of 16 teams competing. They earned a final score of 862 (284-296-282), which was two strokes under par total.

Maryland finished ahead of No. 32 Kennesaw State, No. 42 Old Dominion, No. 50 Augusta and No. 57 Michigan.
This is the fifth weekly honor earned by a Terrapin in head coach Diana Cantu's five-year tenure.Â

The Terps are currently ranked among the best 50 teams in the nation at 49, according to Golfweek and Golfstat. This is the third time in program history, and second time this season.

Next, the Terps will compete at the Tar Heel Classic in the Dominican Republic March 15-16.
