
Terrapins Open Spring Season in Puerto Rico

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women's golf team will open the spring season in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort and Country Club in Puerto Rico this weekend.
The Terrapins, ranked No. 48 in the country, are one of 14 teams competing. They will tee off at 6 a.m. Sunday in the first round, followed by the second and third rounds Monday and Tuesday. They will play the River Course and live stats will be available here.
Maryland will compete against No. 7 Arkansas, No. 47 Augusta, No. 63 East Carolina, No. 64 Indiana, No. 54 Iowa State, No. 41 Georgia, No. 15 Northwestern, No. 59 Virginia Tech, No. 45 NC State, Nebraska, No. 21 TCU and tournament-host No. 29 Purdue.
The Terps are currently ranked in the top 50 teams in the nation according to Golfweek and Golfstat. This is the second time in program history, and first since the 2005-06 season the Terrapins are ranked among the 50 best teams in the country.
