ARGYLE, Texas - The Maryland women's golf team finished the third and final round Tuesday in the Bruzzy Challenge at the Lantana Golf Club in Argyle, Texas.
Round three was led by sophomore Charlotte Lafourcade, who finished with a score of 215 (71,73,71) which was one stroke under. She finished tied for 14th out of 84 participants.
"I'm proud of Charlotte's consistent performance at this tournament. Her game was solid and she deserves this top 15 finish," head coach
Diana Cantu said.
Finishing just three strokes behind her was sophomore Virunpat Olankitkunchai. She finished with a score of 218 (72,70,76) which was two strokes over. Sophomore Laura Van Respaille, finished one stroke behind her with a score of 219 (72,73,74).
Senior Ludovica Scandroglio finished with a score of 222 (71,75,76). Junior Xiaolin Tian finished with a score of 225 (74,74,77).
As a team, the Terrapins finished 7th out of 15 with a final score of 873 (286,290,297). Under coach Cantu's coaching this week, the Terps tied the No. 2 team in the nation in Texas, and beat No. 20, TCU.
Next, Maryland will compete in the Lady Buckeye Invitational April 13-15 in Columbus, Ohio.
