Barnsdale Named Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Each week during the 2018-19 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is Alice Barnsdale of the track & field team.

Sophomore Alice Barnsdale continued her domination in the women's hammer throw, setting a new school record and taking first place in the event at the UVA Quad Meet with a 62.75m (205'10") throw. Barnsdale surpassed her previous best by 10 feet on her way to her third first-place performance of the outdoor season. Barnsdale's 62.75m mark currently ranks third-best in the Big Ten and 22nd in the country.

Barnsdale and the track & field team will enjoy an off weekend before heading back to UVA in two weeks to participate in the UVA Challenge.
