
Terps Trio Earns Big Ten Preseason Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Three members of the second-ranked Maryland field hockey squad earned Big Ten Preseason honors, the league announced Tuesday. Graduate student Jen Bleakney, senior Madison Maguire and junior Bodil Keus were all honored.
Bleakney and Keus were voted co-captains by their teammates last week. Keus was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year last season and earned NFHCA First Team All-America honors. She scored nine goals with seven assists and three defensive saves in 2018.
Maguire notched seven goals, including an overtime game winner over No. 5 Connecticut to send the Terps to their 19th Final Four. She picked up 12 assists on the year and earned NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region honors.
Bleakney comes to the Terrapins from Syracuse, where she tallied 11 goals and six assists in three seasons.
Maryland was ranked No. 2 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Preseason poll released Tuesday.
The Terrapins will officially open the 2019 season with a 6 p.m. game vs. Richmond on Friday at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission for the Terps-Spiders matchup is free. The parking lots around the Complex will open at 4 p.m. Fans planning to arrive before 4 p.m. are encouraged to park in the metered XFINITY Visitors Lot across the street from the Complex. Members of Testudo's Kids Club are invited to come out and support the Terrapins. The first 50 Kids Club members to attend will receive a surprise.
All fans are invited to stay for an autograph and meet and greet session with the Terps.

Maryland will host New Hampshire Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission and parking are both free.
