COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior goalkeeper Erin Seppi was named the Big Ten Co-Goalkeeper of the Week in an announcement made the conference offices Tuesday afternoon. Seppi becomes the first conference player of the week honoree for the Terps this season after allowing just one goal in 200 minutes of action last week. She shares the honor with Claire Graves of Iowa.
The Monroe Township, N.J. native got the week off to a solid start, posting her second shutout of the season on September 5 in Maryland's 3-0 win over George Mason. She followed it up with another gutsy performance, making 11 saves while posting a 91.7% save percentage in Maryland's 1-1 draw with George Washington on September 10.
She is the first Terrapin to be named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week since Rachel Egyed earned the honor last season on September 11.
Seppi and the rest of the Terps will return to action this Thursday, September 12 when the team hosts Temple at Ludwig Field.
