COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Freshman Keyera Wynn scored her first career goal, while Maryland (3-2-2) put together a dominant offensive performance but couldn't come way with the win as the Terps tied Temple (1-3-2) Thursday.
Maryland outshot the Owls 25-14 and held an 18-1 edge in corners, but sat one a one-goal lead for nearly the entire second half.
Temple pressed in the closing seconds and found the equalizer, as Marissa DiGenova scored with just 27 seconds to go in regulation.
The goal forced OT, where Maryland managed six shots but couldn't finish off the Owls.
Wynn's first career strike came in the 37th minute, as Loren Sefcik played in a ball to the left wing that Emily McNesby dropped to a straking Wynn. The Greensboro, N.C. native slotted a one-timer off her left foot into the back right corner to give UMD the 1-0 lead.
The Terps return to action on Sunday, September 15 to host Princeton at Ludwig Field. Kicoff is slated for 2:00 pm. Â
