Terrapin Club Celebrated Director's Circle and Endowment Donors Wednesday Evening
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Student-athletes, Terrapin Club members and members of the Maryland Athletics staff came together for the fourth annual Scholarship and Endowment Dinner at the Riggs Alumni Center Wednesday evening. The event gave the opportunity for Director's Circle and Endowment donors to spend time with the student-athletes that benefit from scholarship support.
After Hall of Fame field hockey head coach Missy Meharg made welcoming remarks, guests heard from director of athletics Damon Evans and associate athletic director for annual giving and ticket operations Matt Monroe.
The night's featured speaker was former Maryland quarterback Jordan Steffy, who played in College Park from 2004-2008. Steffy, now the founder and CEO of a program that provides mentorship resources to youth, spoke to the importance of his college experience and the invaluable impact that his scholarship had on his life.
Steffy, now a member of the Terrapin Club, also stressed the value of giving to support the next generation of student athletes.
