Maryland To Debut Terps Tailgate Show This Friday Night

COLLEGE PARK, Md. --  Maryland Athletics is launching a new, interactive pregame show for Terrapin fans as they won't be able to attend games at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium in 2020. The Terps Tailgate Show, an all-Maryland, exclusive pregame show, will debut before the Terps homecoming game against Minnesota on Friday, Oct. 30.

This Friday's inaugural Terps Tailgate Show will start at 6:10 p.m. The show will be available on multiple platforms: the new One Maryland App, umterps.com, the Maryland Terrapins Facebook page, @umterps on Twitter and Maryland Athletics' YouTube page.

The show will be hosted by local sports personalities Rob Carlin and Chick Hernandez and broadcast live from Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.

Carlin, a 1995 Maryland graduate, has over 25 years of television experience, most recently working for NBC Sports Washington as the host of the Washington Capitals Pre/Post Game shows.

Hernandez, who attended Maryland from 1983-87, is an Emmy award winning Sports Anchor, also spent many years at NBC Sports Washington and now broadcasts golf on PGA Tour Radio on Sirius XM.

The show will run straight until kickoff and feature the full pregame video board show, intro video and team entrance that fans will not be able to view anywhere else this season, as well as segments with Head Coach Michael Locksley, Athletic Director Damon Evans and interactive games and trivia where fans can participate from home using the One Maryland App, with an opportunity to win Terps apparel.

The first Terps Tailgate Show will celebrate homecoming, the announcement of the 2020 Spirit of Maryland Award recipients, and homecoming messages from Maryland football alumni.

Carlin and Hernandez will prepare fans for each Maryland home game with all the notes, facts, info and an inside look into Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium for the Terps' pregame warmups.
