Six Terps Garner All-Big Ten Honors on Offense

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior running back Jake Funk has been named Third Team All-Big Ten and five other Terps garnered honorable mention all-conference accolades as the league announced its offensive honorees on Tuesday.
Funk was voted a third team selection by the coaches, while the media selected him to the honorable mention team. Other Terps voted Honorable Mention All-Big Ten include wide receiver Dontay Demus Jr. (media), left tackle Jaelyn Duncan (media and coaches), wide receiver Rakim Jarrett (media), center Johnny Jordan (media) and quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa (media).
Funk has rushed for 516 yards and has four total touchdowns in four games played this season. He leads the FBS in yards per carry (8.60) and ranks eighth in the nation and second in the Big Ten in rushing yards per game (129.0) while ranking 16th in the nation and second in the Big Ten in all purpose yards per game (146.0).
Demus Jr. leads the Terps in receptions (24), receiving yards (365) and receiving touchdowns (four). The junior has a touchdown reception in four straight games, the longest active streak among any Power Five wide receiver in the nation.
Tagovailoa has started four games at quarterback for the Terps, completing 75 of 122 pass attempts for 1,011 yards and seven touchdowns. The sophomore also has a pair of rushing touchdowns. Tagovailoa was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week on November 2 after completing 26 of 35 passes for 394 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for another two touchdowns and 59 yards in a win over Minnesota.
Jarrett has seen action in four games during his true freshman season, ranking second on the team in both receptions (17) and receiving yards (252). Jarrett starred in Maryland's win over Penn State, tallying five receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns, earning him Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. It marked the third most receiving yards ever in a game by a Maryland freshman and he became the first Maryland freshman with a 100-yard game and two touchdowns since Stefon Diggs in 2012. Jarrett ranks fifth among all FBS receivers in receptions per game (4.3) and sixth receiving yards per game (63).
Duncan and Jordan have been anchors for Maryland's offensive line. The duo has helped the Terps rush for 4.8 yards per carry in 2020, a mark that ranks third in the Big Ten. Duncan has started all five games at left tackle, while Jordan has started four at center. Duncan and Jordan each have 16 career starts, which ranks second on the team in total career starts.
The conference will announce All-Big Ten honors for the defense on Wednesday.
