
Thirteen Terps Earn National Academic Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Thirteen members of the Maryland field hockey team recognition on the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad Tuesday.
Jen Bleakney, Hannah Bond, Christina Calandra, Linda Cobano, Brooke DeBerdine, Emma DeBerdine, Riley Donnelly, Logan Edmondson, Nathalie Fiechter, Kelee Lepage, Hannah Menge, Emily Thomas and Sam Zywna were all honored. Edmondson, Lepage and Thomas earned the recognition in all four years of their careers.
The Division I National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year.
Last week, the Terrapins earned a 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award. The Division I National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2019-2020 school year.
Maryland won its fifth Big Ten regular season title in six years this fall and earned a record of 17-4. The Terrapins made their 25th straight NCAA Tournament appearance – the longest active streak in the country.
