Why Maryland?
Audrey: I choose Maryland because it is close to home and when I visited I loved the campus. Maryland has met my expectations because I have met so many people and made friendships that will last a lifetime. This was something I was looking forward to the most out of my college experience.
Austynn: I chose Maryland for many reasons but the biggest being that the second I stepped onto campus it felt natural and like I was at home. As soon as I met the coaches and the team I could see the family connection and just knew I wanted to be part of such a close-knit group of people. Not only is Maryland an athletic fit, but it would it is also a university that had top academic programs that would lead me to a bright future. Although this year's season has ended on an unexpected note, I would not trade the memories I have made this year with such an incredible group of people. Not only did I make a new home for myself at Maryland but I also gained 20 new best friends that I couldn't imagine my life without. I cannot wait to see what the coming years have in store for this team and I but I am excited to continue on this crazy journey.
Biggest pet-peeve?
Audrey: Being rushed.
Austynn: My biggest pet peeve is when people walk slowly in front of me or when people open a message and never respond.
What would you like your legacy to be?
Audrey: I want people to remember me as a creative, kind and outgoing person. I also want to leave a legacy of creativity that allows everyone to be able to express themselves through different types of art and not always words.
Austynn: I want my legacy to follow in the footsteps of one of my favorite quotes: "Everything happens for a reason." Many parts of my life have contributed into shaping me into the person I am today. However, whatever life has thrown a me, both the good and the bad, has always led me to the path I am on now. Sometimes you look back and see how things could have been different and how you could have changed things. However, I believe that because everything happens for a reason that you shouldn't dwell on the past and embrace what you are given in the present. Make the most of every opportunity and enjoy the moment. Don't take anything for granted and give everything 110% so that when you hardworking does pay off it is the most incredible feeling ever. Although there will be hard days, try to take a positive, no matter how small it may be, out of every situation. I want my legacy to carry the idea that no matter what, there is reason behind everything, God has a plan for each and every one of us, and to follow that path wherever it may lead you.
