College Park, MD -- Sydney Dowler collected her 1000th career assist as Maryland (17-5, 5-5 Big Ten) defeated Michigan State for the second-time in a week, 25-20, 25-20, 26-28, 25-22.

Sam Csire picked up right where she left off after a 20 kill performance against Rutgers with six quick kills in the Terps first set victory. Six more kills from Csire, and timely digs from Milan Gomillion and Paula Neciporuka lifted Maryland to a 2-0 lead. Despite Dowler collecting her 1000th assist by setting up Csire for a thunderous kill, The Spartans (9-10, 2-8 Big Ten) forced a set four after a chaotic overtime period. Both team's battled throughout the fourth set but it was ultimately the Terps who came out on top thanks to thunderous kills by Dowler, stifling the Spartan comeback and winning the match.

Dowler Dominance

Sydney Dowler collected her 1000 career assist in the third set, finishing the game with 40.
Dowler put up an impressive statline across the board with six kills, three service aces, five digs, and three blocks.

Filling The Statsheet

Csire collected her third straight match with 10+ kills, finishing with a team-high 19. She added eight digs and a solo block.
The Terps managed 14 blocks on the night, with Rainelle Jones leading the team with seven.
Gomillion led the team in digs with 21, with Neciporuka finishing in second with 18.
