COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team will host No. 8 Michigan for Senior Day in College Park on Saturday, Nov. 20. The home finale for the Terps is set to kick at 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on Big Ten Network and the Maryland Sports Radio Network.
 

GAME 11 STORYLINES

TAULIA RISING THE RANKS
  • QB Taulia Tagovailoa is rewriting the Maryland record books this season, approaching the single season record in completions, passing yards and passing touchdowns, currently standing third all-time in each category.
  • Tagovailoa has 268 completions this season, only 11 behind Scott Milanovich for second all-time and only 18 behind John Kaleo's program record of 286 in 1992.
  • The signal caller is also third all-time in single-season passing yards, only 287 yards behind John Kaleo (1992) for second all-time and 394 yards behind Scott Milanovich's program record of 3,499 set in 1993.
  • The junior's 20 passing touchdowns is tied with Milanovich (1994) for third all-time, two behind Danny O'Brien (22 in 2010) for second all-time and six behind Milanovich (1993) for the program record.
  • Tagovailoa is also ninth all-time in career completions (343), career passing yards (4,116) and career touchdowns (27).

  • QB Taulia Tagovailoa has thrown for 1,140 passing yards in the last three games (419 vs. Indiana, 371 vs. #22 Penn State and 350 at #8 Michigan State), the most of his career and the most by a Maryland quarterback over a three game span since Scott Milanovich passed for 1,354 yards over three games in 1993 (405 at North Carolina, 498 at Virginia Tech & 451 vs. West Virginia).
  • Over the last three weeks, Tagovailoa has the fourth-most passing yards among all Power Five quarterbacks and the second-most in the Big Ten only trailing Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett (1,281), Mississippi State's Will Rogers (1,176) and Purdue's Aiden O'Connell (1,159). Tagovailoa has six of the top-20 passing games in the Big Ten this season, the most in the conference. 
  • QB Taulia Tagovailoa has tallied six 300-yard passing games this season (419 vs. Indiana, 384 vs. Kent St., 371 vs. #22 Penn State, 350 at #8 Michigan State, 350 at Illinois & 332 vs. West Virginia), the most in program history and the most in the Big Ten this season.
  • Tagovailoa has thrown for 300-plus yards in half of his starts as a Terp (seven out of 14) and is three away from tying Scott Milanovich for the career program record (10).

  • DB Jakorian Bennett leads all Power Five players with 13 pass breakups this season.
  • In nine games played, Bennett has 11 pass breakups and two interceptions, for an average of 1.4 pass breakups per game.
  • The senior has five pass deflections over the past three games alone and has four games this season with at least two pass breakups, tied for the most of any player in the country.
  • Bennett's 13 pass breakups are the most through nine games by a Terp since Will Likely had 17 in 2014.

  • CB Tarheeb Still has 17 pass breakups through only 14 games as a Terp, the most by a player over his first 14 games since Domonique Foxworth had 21 over the first 14 games of his career in 2001-02.
  • As a freshman in 2020, Still led the nation in pass breakups per game, averaging two per game and eight on the season, the highest per game mark in program history.
  • Still was selected to The Athletic's Freshman All-America Team, one of five defensive backs named to the team.
  • The now-sophomore has nine so far this season, the second-most on the team and fifth-most in the Big Ten, and has one in seven of the last eight games.

  • Over the past two weeks, TE Chigoziem Okonkwo has 20 receptions for 197 yards, the most receptions ever by a Maryland tight end over a two game span and the most by any Maryland player since Torrey Smith tallied 21 against Florida State (11/20) and NC State (11/27) in 2010.
  • The senior's 197 yards are the most yards by a Maryland tight end over two consecutive games since Vernon Davis had 298 against Clemson (9/10) and West Virginia (9/17) in 2005.
  • Okonkwo recorded 12 receptions vs. #22 Penn State (11/6), the second-highest reception total ever by a Maryland tight end, only trailing Frank Wycheck's 14 vs. Virginia Tech in 1990 (9/1).
  • Okonkwo's 112 yards this past week at #8 Michigan State (11/13) are the most by a Maryland tight end since Davis had 139 yards at North Carolina in 2005 (11/12).
