
Tagovailoa Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Football Team, it was announced on Thursday.
Recognized as one of the nation's top student-athletes for his combined performances on the football field and in the classroom, Tagovailoa now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in December. A native of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Tagovailoa boasts a 3.68 GPA as he works towards his degree in family science.
On the field, Tagovailoa is rewriting the Maryland record books this season. With two games still remaining in the 2021 regular season, he's currently third all-time at Maryland in single-season completions (268), passing yards (3,105) and passing touchdowns (20).
Tagovailoa ranks first in the Big Ten in passing yards and completions per game (26.8). His six 300-yard passing games this season is the most in program history in a single season and is the most in the Big Ten this year.
