Terrapin Club Member Spotlight: Gary Terle

How did you first get involved with the Terrapin Club?
Gary: I wanted to give back to the university after graduation because I had a great experience as a student athletic trainer, which really shaped my future. Since the athletic department paid for a large portion of my education, I joined the Terrapin Club and M Club. I also wanted to keep going to games and support the teams
What motivates you to give so generously?
Gary: I want to support the school and see the Terps be successful. It also helps to get good seats
Do you have a message you would like to share with other donors and fans?
Gary: It's easy to be a fair weather fan, but we should stay loyal through the tough times and support the student-athletes and programs.
Who is on your Mount Rushmore of Maryland Athletics
Gary: Gary Williams, Lefty Driesell, Bud Beardmore, and Cindy Timchal. Honorable mention to all the other great coaches who brought national prominence to men's and women's lacrosse and basketball, soccer, field hockey and football over the years.
What do you hope Maryland Athletics will achieve this year?
Gary: I hope to see Maryland safely play through the fall and winter seasons and get back to normal with the spring sports.
If you could go back in time and witness one Terps game live (in any sport), what would it be and why?
Gary: I would have loved to have been there for the Miracle in Miami in 1984 to see the phenomenal comeback.
What is the first Maryland game you ever went to?
Gary: The first home football game of 1976 when I was a freshman (against Richmond).
What do you want to see Maryland Athletics achieve moving forward?
Gary: I hope to see a combination of high academic standards and success on the field.

What makes Maryland Athletics so special?
Gary: I had a great experience attending the University and working with a number of sports teams as a student athletic trainer. Since graduating, I have enjoyed following the Terps and going to games with my friends.
