BATON ROUGE, La. - The No. 19 Maryland women's golf team will compete as a fifth-seed in the 2021 NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, May 10-12. This marks Maryland's second consecutive appearance in the tournament, with their 2019 bout being the team's first since 2012.
Maryland will head into regionals coming off a successful regular season, having finished in the top-three teams in each event they competed in, including finishing second overall in the Big Ten Tournament; matching their highest placing finish to date. The Terps saw individual successes as well, with
Virunpat Olankitkunchai ranking as high as No. 10 and
Laura Van Respaille coming in at No. 76 in the nation (golfstat.com). Olankitkunchai was also recently named to Team International alongside head coach
Diana Cantu for the Arnold Palmer Cup, the first Terrapin in program history to be selected to the prestigious tournament.
The Terps will play at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La., hosted by LSU.
