Women's Golf Advances to NCAA Championships

BATON ROUGE, La. - Due to weather in the Baton Rouge area, NCAA Regionals has been canceled. As a fifth-seed, Maryland has automatically advanced to the championships, their first as a team in program history.

"I couldn't be more proud of this team and their resiliency over the past year," head coach Diana Cantu said. "This team overcame so much adversity and never backed away from whatever challenge came their way. All season they have proved themselves over and over again and never finished out of the top-three in seven tournaments which earned a fifth-seed at regionals. With the unique circumstances this week, that regular season body of work and ranking put us in a position to advance to the national championship. We are excited for the opportunity to compete again and to show how hard we've worked all season to be the first team in Maryland women's golf history to qualify for the national championship!"

The NCAA Women's Golf Championship will be held at the Grayhawk Golf Club May 21-26 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
