Maryland Adds Seungeon Kim to 2021 Roster

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland men's soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski announced the addition of Seungeon Kim to the 2021 roster Wednesday morning.

"Seungeon is a great late addition to our team," Cirovski said. "He is a proven attacking threat. He has a powerful shot with both feet and the creativity to unbalance opponents with his dribbling and passing ability. I'm excited to integrate him into our already talented newcomer group."

Kim comes to Maryland after a standout two seasons with NJCAA power Pima Community College. The attacking midfielder scored 23 goals and added six assists over the course of 28 matches for the Aztecs. He was named a first-team NJCAA All-American in 2021 after recording 15 goals and compiling five assists.

He was also named a first-team JUCO All-American by the United Soccer Coaches and was selected as the ACCAC Player of the Year. He was a first team All-ACCAC selection and first team NJCAA Region I, Division II, selection.

The Seoul, South Korea native helped Pima finish third in the NJCAA Tournament in 2021. Pima has been one of the top programs in the NJCAA ranks over the past two decades, capturing the national championship in 2018. Maryland begins its season Aug. 26 at Ludwig Field against Charlotte. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
