COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland women's soccer team (3-0-0) scrapped and clawed their way to a 2-1 second half comeback win against the Richmond Spiders (0-2). The Terps surrendered an early goal in the 7th minute and found themselves at a deficit for the first time this season. Chances were few and far between as their only shot on goal through 68 minutes came from Emily McNesby. Then, in the blink of an eye, goals from Adalee Broadbent and Catherine DeRosa lifted Maryland to the lead and they were able to hold on to stay undefeated on the season.

Electric Equalizer

With the offense struggling, defender Adalee Broadbent took matters into her own hands in the 68th minute as she launched a shot from distance that found the back of the net.
It marked the third goal in Broadbent's career and first since 2019.

DeRosa Dot

After Toni Domingos was taken down in the box, Catherine DeRosa stepped to to take the penalty where after a pause, she calmly buried the ball behind the goalie.
It was DeRosa's first career goal as a member of the Maryland Terrapins.

Busy Brucia

Goalie Liz Brucia made her third consecutive start on the season and faced a season high in shots (11) and matched a season high in shots on goal (4) while also surrendering her first goal of the season.

Hot Start

Maryland is now 3-0 for the first time 2017 when they started 6-0-1

Rain, Rain, Go Away

The teams took the field at 5:57 pm as the game was delayed nearly an hour and a half due to heavy rain and lightning in College Park.

Up Next

The undefeated Terps will return to the pitch this Sunday as they welcome the Navy Midshipmen to Ludwig Field. Maryland is 11-1-2 all-time vs. the Naval Academy with their last meeting being a 0-0 draw in 2018.
