COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Each week during the 2021-22 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week.
This week's
Solomon Eye Terp of the Week is sophomore
Sam Csire of Terps Volleyball.
Csire, a sophomore outside hitter, paced the Terps offensively with 38 kills across three matches of the Maryland Invite, earning her recognition as the MVP of the weekend. In addition to 38 kills she also added two service aces and four blocking assists with her 42 total points also leading all student-athletes. Her 3.8 kills per set currently ranks sixth in the Big Ten.
Defensively she also contributed 23 digs. Her efforts helped propel the Terps to three victories in three matches on the weekend for a 3-0 start to the season.
The Strongsville, Ohio, native is now up to 138 career kills and over 157 total points in her young Terps career.
