: Tell us about how you first got involved with the Terrapin Club?
Ben: I first got involved when I was a student, I had a student Terrapin Club membership. I did that with the idea of building up some priority points for the future to purchase season tickets for the rest of my life. My involvement with the Terrapin Club was born out of being passionate about Maryland Athletics and wanting to set myself up for the future.
: What motivates you to give so generously?
Ben: I feel like the more successful the University of Maryland is, the more successful I am. I wear my Maryland colors with pride, and it allows me to get excited to go to games, attend events, and network with fellow graduates. By donating I am able to help the University succeed, and I am able to participate in that success.
: Do you have a message you would like to share with other donors and fans?
Ben: Give what you can. Regardless of what level you contribute at, it makes a difference. I worked at the athletic department and could see firsthand how donations make a difference. By everyone contributing it leads to extra scholarships or projects that the athletic department can undertake. Donations give more resources for the athletic department to be more successful.
: Do you have an anecdote about Maryland Athletics or the Terrapin Club that you would like to share?
Ben: One of the big things I have seen recently is the access that the Terrapin Club has provided through experiences with the coaching staff and events. I always felt like as a donor I would like to receive more access, and I feel like this message is being heard with the new backstage pass benefit, Terps on Tour events, and Terrapin Club+. The feedback is being heard and there is now so much more value to being a Terrapin Club donor.
: Who is on your Mount Rushmore of Maryland Athletics?
Ben: Juan Dixon, Greivis Vasquez, Stefon Diggs, and
Gary Williams
: What do you hope Maryland Athletics will achieve this year?
Ben:Â Continued growth and excellence across the board. It is easy to point out football and men's basketball success but seeing us continue to be at the top of the Big Ten in terms of National Championships since joining the conference is really something to be proud of. I'd love to see a football bowl game and the men's basketball team making it past the Sweet Sixteen. And continue the level of excellence in the Olympic sports so that we can continue to build the Maryland brand.
: If you could go back in time and witness one Terps game live (in any sport), what would it be and why?
Ben:Â It would have to be the football comeback against Miami in 1984. I wasn't alive at the time, but I can imagine how cool it would be to see it in person being such huge underdogs and coming back from such a massive deficit. To be there and see the excitement build when players and fans started to realize that there was a chance of a comeback would really be a special moment.
: What is the first Maryland game you ever went to?
Ben: It would be a non-conference men's basketball game when I was very young. I was probably like 4 years old in Cole Field House.
: What do you want to see Maryland Athletics achieve moving forward?
Ben:Â Big picture, I'd like to see us to be competitive in football because I know how important that is for the overall athletic department since it brings in so much revenue. There is such a great opportunity to make a major statement locally given all the talent in this region. We can really build a powerhouse that can compete with the likes of Ohio State and Michigan. I want to see a team that is consistently winning 8-games or so, because that will help lift the other programs and aspects of the athletic department.
: What makes Maryland Athletics so special?
Ben:Â It's home. I grew up rooting for the Terps. I went to school at Maryland. I am literally a part of the team. It brings back so many memories watching them compete. I'm excited to create new memories as I look to bring my family to games in the future. It's Maryland, it's what I know.
