Maryland Athletics Launches Faculty Guest Coach Program

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland Athletics debuted a new "Faculty Guest Coach" program at last Saturday's Kent State football game. Dr. Prabhudev Konana, Dean and Professor of Information Systems in the Smith Business School and Jo B. Zimmerman, Senior Lecturer of Kinesiology in the School of Public Health had a special experience of going behind the scenes at Jones-Hill House and Capital One Field Maryland Stadium on a gameday with the football program.
"When you talk about excellence, everything I saw, every step I took, it shows what Terrapins can do and what the facilities can inspire," said Dr. Konana. "We want every Terp that walks on this campus, to say 'wow'!"
"Guest coaching has been really unexpectedly fun," said Zimmerman. "I haven't been involved in high-level sports and to see most of the gameday prep has been really interesting stuff. Getting to meet coaches, getting to tour this incredible facility, that has been really nice."
