GAME TWOÂ STORYLINES
TURNOVER TERPS
- The Terps had a plus-four turnover margin in the win over West Virginia with two fumble recoveries (WR Darryl Jones & DL Lawtez Rogers) and two interceptions (S Nick Cross & CB Jakorian Bennett).
- This was the first time Maryland was plus-four in the turnover category since September 17, 2016 over UCF when they had one interception and three fumble recoveries without turning the ball over. Maryland has now won eight-straight games when they haven't committed a turnover, dating back to October 14, 2017.
demus streaking
- WR Dontay Demus Jr. has caught a touchdown in five straight games dating back to the Minnesota (10/30/20) game last season, the longest streak by any Mayland pass catcher since at least 1985 and the longest current streak by any Big Ten player.
- Demus Jr. has also caught a pass in 23 straight games, dating back to October 27, 2018, tied for the 14th-longest streak in the country and fourth-longest in the Big Ten. Â
DEMUS + JARRETT = STARDOM
- The wide receiver duo of Dontay Demus Jr. (133 yards) and Rakim Jarrett (122 yards) combined for 255 receiving yards vs. West Virginia (9/4), the most combined yardage of any pass catching duo in a single game in the FBS this season.
- The 255 combined yards are the most by a Maryland receiving tandem since Torrey Smith (224) and Will Yeatman (46) combined for 270 yards against North Carolina State on November 27, 2010. Both tallied six receptions and a touchdown, with Demus Jr. scoring on a 66-yard pass in the first quarter and Jarrett sealing the game with a 60-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the Terps up 30-21.Â
 TAULIA TERRIFIC
- In his time as a Terp beginning in 2020, QB Taulia Tagovailoa has averaged 268.6 passing yards per game, the fourth-highest over that time span of any Power Five quarterback playing in 2021 and the most in the Big Ten.
- Tagovailoa, who has totaled 1,343 yards in five games as a Terp, trails only USC's Kedon Slovis (311.0 per game), UNC's Sam Howell (291.8 per game) and Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler (277.9 per game).
- Tagovailoa's 332 passing yards against West Virginia are the most by any Big Ten player in a game this season.

- The Terps return 86% of its offensive production, the 14th-highest mark in the country and 85% of its defensive production, the 17th-highest mark in the country.
