COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Returners, redshirt freshmen and true freshmen all stood out in Maryland's annual Red-Black match.

True freshmen Kal Miller and Joe Fisk both came away with wins in their Maryland debuts. The Terps' trio of highly-recruited redshirt freshmen, Braxton Brown, Ethen Miller and Jaxon Smith were all dominant in their bouts.

Key returners Jaxon Smith, John Martin Best and Jaron Smith each put on big shows in front of an energized XFINITY Center Pavilion. It was Best's first match action since tearing his ACL on Dec. 4, 2021 against Duke.

The Terps will return to official action next weekend when the host a Quad Meet starting with Bloomsburg at 10 am, Duke at noon and American and 2 pm.
