College Park -- Maryland field hockey has been ranked No.2 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
This ranking is a two-position improvement from the previous week and comes after a pair of 2-1 overtime Terrapin victories over No.3 Iowa and No.2 Northwestern. With Sunday's win the Terps record improves to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten. The Terps are the lone undefeated team in Big Ten conference play and hold the most wins in the nation. This is Maryland's best position in the poll since November 2019.
 
The Terps return to College Park Friday, Oct. 7 when they host Indiana at 6:00 p.m. The game will be available for streaming on B1G+.
