INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The NFL Scouting Combine started yesterday and the star of Day One was a Terp. Tight end
Chigoziem Okonkwo dazzled in every facet of the combine, especially the 40-yard dash, where he had the fastest time by a tight end, running a 4.52.
Chig made sure everyone is awake.
The analysts had glowing things to say about Chig.
Peter Schrager: "Okonkwo has been the star of the 40. [People around the league] are saying 'oh my gosh what a kid!' He's been interviewing this week and has incredible character. You're talking about a player with blazing speed out here in the 40, but also has high intelligence and high character. Okonkwo out of Maryland might be the stud of the day at the tight end position."
Charles Davis: "Get to know the young man out of Maryland Chig Okonkwo. When you watch him catch a screen and go 80 yards, you're going to see that athleticism on display."
Even drew comparisons to the best Maryland tight end of all-time.
Rich Eisen: "One of the best tight end combine performances we ever saw was Vernon Davis in 2006, who blew the roof off this place. This year, the group is led by another Maryland Terrapin: Chig Okonkwo."
Beat everyone by a wide margin.
Maryland produces freaks.
