Hovland Names Hollandsworth As Assistant Coach

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Head Coach Kelly Hovland announced that Amanda Hollandsworth has been named assistant coach for the Maryland women's golf program on Monday.
Hollandsworth served as the interim assistant coach from November 2021 to May 2022.
The Floyd, Virginia native, played Division I golf at Virginia Tech from 2014-19, completing her collegiate career with Hokies with 14 top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at The Blessings Golf Club.
"I couldn't be more excited to keep Amanda as a Terp! She has filled a vital role on our team for the past six months on an interim basis and really proved her value to this program and me," said head coach Kelly Hovland. "Her ability to connect to the players as well as her professional career has given her the credibility to help drive our team to the next level. She has embraced the '#OneMaryland' vision from the start, and I am very excited to continue building a championship team at Maryland with Amanda!"
Hollandsworth turned pro in May 2019 after completing her graduate degree. She's played in the 2019 U.S Women's Open. She currently competes on the EPSON Tour (formerly the Symetra Tour), the official qualifying tour of the LPGA Tour. Holllandsworth's rookie year was 2020.
Hollandsworth holds a bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and a master's in Applied Nutrition and Physical Activity from Virginia Tech.
"Transitioning into coaching from playing has been an amazing opportunity and a dream job that I didn't even know I wanted to experience," said assistant coach Amanda Hollandsworth. "I have developed a true passion for coaching in the past six months and learned just what Maryland Pride is all about. Continuing coaching at the University of Maryland is an exciting leap in my life. I am so thankful to Coach Kelly for taking a chance on me and helping me grow every step of the way. Amanda has ties to Maryland; her older sister Jessica Hollandsworth who played for Maryland from 2008-12, was a three-time All-ACC Selection and is ranked 6th on the career scoring average for the Terrapins.
