COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Big Ten Conference and its television partners announced on Thursday game times and television designations for all of Maryland football's games in September, along with the Terps' Homecoming game against Northwestern in October.
The Terrapins will open their 2022 campaign at home against Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 3. The game will kick at Noon and air on Big Ten Network. It'll mark the first all-time meeting between the programs.
Maryland will play its first road game of the season the following week on September 10 when the Terps travel to Charlotte for a 3:30 p.m. kick. Maryland's lone non-conference road game and first-ever match-up with the 49ers will be broadcast on Stadium.
On September 17, the Terps will wrap-up their non-conference slate by welcoming SMU to Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium for a night game. The Terps and Mustangs are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kick and the game will air on FS1. Maryland has won both of its all-time meetings against SMU, but the squads have not met on the gridiron since 1962.
The following week, Maryland opens Big Ten play at Michigan. The conference opener for both teams is set for a Noon kickoff. The Big Ten East battle will be broadcast on either FOX or FS1.
The Terps will host Northwestern for their annual Homecoming game on October 22. The game will kick at 3:30 p.m. with television details to be released at a later date.
