Terps Release Fall 2022 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland Field Hockey will challenge some of the nation's toughest competition in 2022, as the Terps announced their fall schedule on Wednesday.

The Terps will face 11 opponents ranked in last year's final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches poll, including the country's top four ranked teams.

"Scheduling the top teams every year inspires everyone, the players, families, fans and Alumnae love good hockey!!" Head Coach Miss Meharg said. " The Big Ten holds the highest conference power and adding Stanford, Boston College, Duke, Harvard, Princeton, UVA and UConn to that mix is pure top NCAA Division I field Hockey. Come watch us click!"

Maryland will open their regular season schedule by hosting Drexel (Aug. 26) and Stanford (Aug. 29) at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

The Terps will travel to Newton, Mass. from Sept. 2-4 to play in the 7th annual B1G/ACC Cup. They will face host Boston College (Sept. 2) and Duke (Sept. 4) in the event.

Maryland will host the 26th annual Terrapin Invitational the following weekend, welcoming American, Harvard and New Hampshire to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex for the event from Sept. 9-11. The Terps will play Harvard (Sept. 9) with American and New Hampshire in the second game that day. In day two of the Terrapin Invitational, Maryland will take on New Hampshire (Sept. 11), with American and Harvard playing earlier in the day.

The Terps will then hit the road for two consecutive games facing Big Ten opponent Ohio State (Sept. 16) and Princeton (Sept. 20).

Maryland will face both Michigan (Sept. 23) and Michigan State (Sept. 25) in College Park. The Terps defeated Michigan in Ann Arbor by a score of 2-1 last season. The Wolverines were ranked No. 2 in the nation at the time.

The Terps will hit the road five days later to face two Big Ten foes in Iowa (Sept. 30) and reigning national champions, Northwestern (Oct. 2).

Maryland will then return to College Park for a four game homestand. The Terps will open this stretch by facing Indiana (Oct. 7), and Georgetown (Oct. 9). They will then welcome Rutgers (Oct. 14) and American (Oct. 16) the following weekend. Rutgers ended last season's campaign ranked No. 1 overall in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches poll.

The Terps will travel to State College, Pa. to face Penn State (Oct. 21) before returning home for a midweek matchup against Virginia (Oct. 26). The game against Virginia will be a rematch of last season's NCAA First Round matchup, which Maryland won 2-1.

Maryland will close out the regular season with a clash against Connecticut (Oct. 28) in Storrs, Conn, home of the 2022 Final Four.

The Big Ten Tournament will be held Nov. 2-6 at Ohio State. The NCAA Regional Tournament will take place Nov. 11-13. The National Semifinals and Championship will be played Nov. 18 and 20 at the University of Connecticut.

All home games will be played at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. Admission is free for all home games and parking information will be posted prior to each game.
