COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland men's soccer student-athletes
Malcolm Johnston (Co-Offensive) and
Niklas Neumann (Co-Defensive) earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Johnston scored a penalty kick goal against No. 21 Georgetown that helped lift the Terps to a District Derby victory. The Aurora, Ontario native also notched a goal and an assist in the Battle for the DMV against Virginia. Neumann made five saves, including three highlight reel stops in the second half to preserve the Terps' advantage against the Hoyas. The Germany native also stopped a penalty kick against Virginia.
Maryland returns to action Friday against Michigan, with action slated to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. The match can be seen on the Big Ten Network.Â
