ANN ARBOR, MI --Â Down four ranked wrestlers, the shorthanded Terps (8-6, 0-5) dropped a match to the third-ranked Michigan Wolverines (9-2, 4-2) on the road, 44-5, wrapping up Maryland's weekend in the Wolverine State.
John Martin Best highlighted the day with a pin at 165, the first one of his collegiate career.Â
No. 15 Jaxon Smith (197) and No. 24 Michael North (157) both missed their third straight matches due to injury. No. 20 Ethen Miller missed his second in a row due to illness and No. 12 Braxton Brown, who holds a 13-0 record in dual matches, was also held out of the dual due to illness. Subsequently, the Terps had to forfeit at both 125 and 197.Â
