ANN ARBOR, MI - Maryland women's soccer came up short in its match at No. 22 Michigan, falling by a score of 4-0.
Michigan (7-2-3, 3-1-1) went out in front early thanks to two goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. Liz Beardsley did her part in the first half, as the goalkeeper had five saves in the first half. In the second half, Michigan would add two more goals to give itself the four-goal win. Beardsley finished with seven saves.
The Terrapins (3-5-5, 0-4-1) had a stretch at the end of the first half and beginning of the second half where they were able to put the home team under pressure, but weren't able to get on the board.
Breaking Down the Action
"I think we gotta get back to the basics this upcoming week. I think we have to go back to what makes us special as a team and we gotta get back to competing. The four goals we let up were off a corner, we lost our mark twice, and we gave up a penalty kick. So it wasn't anything tactically, it just comes down to those individual moments. We gotta get back to those moments".
