Florian Huerlimann went three under par overall to lead the Maryland men's golf team to a strong showing at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational Monday at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Fla.
Huerlimann earned a score of 213, his lowest of the year. He tied his career low 69 in the first round Sunday, then went on to shoot a 73 in the second round and a 71 in the third round Monday. He finished with 12 birdies total and tied for 26th in the individual standings.
Fifth-year
Ben Cooper went one under par with a score of 215. He put up back to back scores of 71 in the first two rounds Sunday, then shot a 73 Monday. Cooper made nine birdies and tied for 36th.
Freshman
Yang Kuang earned his season-low score of 220 (72-71-77), which was +4. He made six birdies. Sophomore
Armand Papaziani earned his season-best score of 222 (71-74-77), which was +6. He tallied 12 birdies.
Sophomore
Ronnie Kim earned a score of 225 (72-76-77), which was +9. He made 10 birdies.
As a team, the Terrapins shot a season-best 283 in the first round and sat tied for second in the standings. They finished with a season-low score of 870 (283-289-298), which was +6 overall. .
Next, the Terps will close the fall season at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate Oct. 29-30 in Charleston, S.C.
