COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team is set to participate in a Thanksgiving food basket pickup event to benefit needy families in the College Park area during the holiday season.
 
In partnership with the MASE Foundation, the Maryland football parent group is working with local grocery stores to gather the goods for the baskets. Members of the Terrapin football team and their parents will then come together at Jones-Hill House on Sunday, Nov. 19 to assemble food baskets that will be distributed to organizations who have families with food insecurities in the College Park community. 
 
Food Basket will be filled with everything needed to have a Thanksgiving meal for a family of six. Each box will contain a variety of pantry items, fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and a grocery store gift card to purchase perishable items to complete the meal!

Each basket will have a $60 value and partial basket donations are gladly accepted. Please place the word THANKSGIVING in the comments section of your donation. All donations are tax deductible. 
 
The goal of the team is to garner enough donations to pack 300 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need in the College Park community.
