Terps Announce 2023 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland women's soccer coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer announced the program's 2023 schedule Monday, featuring four matches with teams that advanced to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

The Terps will play 9 matches in total at Ludwig Field in front of the best fans in college soccer, with featured matches against Ohio State, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

The Terps schedule begins with an abundance of notable non-conference matchups. Opening night at Ludwig Field comes on Aug. 17 when the Terps welcome American (7 PM), the first time the two teams have faced each other since 2011. Maryland travels down south for their first road game of the season to take on the Florida Gators on Aug. 20 (6 PM).

Maryland returns to Ludwig on Aug. 24 for an in-state match against Navy (6 PM) before getting back on the road for two road games in Virginia. The Terps will take on the Dukes of James Madison in Harrisonburg on Aug. 27 (3:30 PM) and will then travel to Richmond to face VCU on Aug. 30 (7 PM).

The Terps return to College Park for a pair of home matches with Towson on Sept. 3 (1 PM) and George Mason on Sept. 7 (7 PM) and will then travel to Binghamton on Sept. 10 (1 PM) for the non-conference finale. Maryland will stay on the road for the Big Ten conference opener against the reigning Big Ten tournament champions Penn State on Sept. 17 (6 PM).

Maryland opens up the Big Ten home slate with a two home games against Purdue on Sept. 21 and Ohio State on Sept. 24. On Sept. 28, the Terps will travel to face off with Michigan State before a clash at Michigan on Oct. 1. The Terps return home for a match against Rutgers on Oct. 7 and will then travel to the midwest and clash with Nebraska on Oct. 12 and Iowa on Oct. 15

Maryland closes out the regular season with a pair of home matches against Wisconsin on Oct. 19, before facing Indiana for the regular season-finale on Oct. 22. 

The Terps enter the 2023 season following the most successful season since 2019. Nemzer enters her second season and the helm of the program as she welcomes 22 newcomers to the 2023 Terrapin roster.
