Maryland Athletics Named NACMA Marketing Team Of The Year

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The University of Maryland marketing department won the 2023 National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Marketing Team of the Year, presented by PrestoSports, at the Awards Ceremony in Orlando, FL, on Monday.

Maryland earned NACMA's top prize in Group I over teams from Temple University and the University of Texas. The team led by Jordan Looby, Maryland's Senior Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience, claimed its third NACMA Team of the Year award, following first-place finishes in 2015 and 2020.

"We're so honored to receive this award. Our industry is filled with incredible people that come together to form teams that are truly greater than the sum of their parts, and I know our staff is proud to be a part of that," said Looby. "This is truly a Maryland Athletics-wide honor made possible by our department's top-down, side-to-side commitment to collaboration. We're fortunate to be surrounded by many passionate people who embody what's truly great about college athletics."

Maryland took first place in four different categories: Game Day Experience, Single Game Attendance/Sellout Campaign, Digital Media Engagement, and Sponsorship Campaign.

The team also placed second in the Membership Drives and Affinity Group Marketing categories, while securing third-place finishes in the Fundraising Campaign and Ticket Revenue Campaign categories.

The 2023 NACMA Awards Ceremony is a part of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention taking place this week in Orlando.
