ROSEMONT, IL -- The Big Ten Conference has officially announced the Maryland wrestling team's home and away opponents for the 2023-24 season.
The Terps will host four matches against Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Penn State and hit the road for duals against Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio State and Rutgers.
Six of Maryland's opponents (Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Indiana, Ohio State and Rutgers) are divisional opponents that the Terps faced last season. Minnesota and Northwestern are the Terps' two cross-over opponents this season. Maryland last faced the two programs in the shortened, Big Ten-only 2021 season.
Fifth-year head coach
Alex Clemsen and Maryland are coming off a 10-win dual season, the highest win mark since the 2012-13. The Terps also had five NCAA qualifiers last season (
Braxton Brown,
Ethen Miller Kal Miller,
Jaron Smith and
Jaxon Smith), marking the most qualifiers since 2014. All except for
Jaron Smith are back for the 2023-24 season in addition to 2022 NCAA Qualifier
Dominic Solis.
