COLLEGE PARK, MD – No. 6 Maryland field hockey continued its hot streak with its 4-1 win over American at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex on Monday. The Terps (9-3) have now won six of their last seven games.

Maryland scored on its first penalty corner with 5:32 left in the first half. Ball State transfer Fleur Knopert tapped the ball in off an assist from Josie Hollamon. Knopert now has four goals in 2024.

Hollamon then reached the scoring column by extending Maryland's lead on another penalty corner with 5:46 to play in the third period. The goal was assisted by Emma DeBerdine and Ericka Morris-Adams.

Maci Bradford added to the scoring column after scoring a third Maryland goal off a penalty corner five minutes into the fourth period. Hollamon assisted the goal for her second of the night, marking her first career game with multiple assists. Hope Rose added a score for good measure late in the fourth for her team-leading sixth of the season.

American (7-6) entered halftime leading Maryland in shots and corner opportunities. However, the Terps dominated the second half in shots (20-7) and corners (10-4). Goalkeeper Alyssa Klebasko made three saves.

The Eagles scored their lone goal late in the fourth. They had previously won four consecutive games while outscoring their opponents 7-2.

Breaking Down The Action

Alyssa Klebasko made an early pad save on net off an early American shot on goal in the first minute of play.
Maryland's first shot came in the game's fifth minute, which the American goalkeeper saved.
American had a penalty corner in the 12th minute that saw the shot deflected wide of the net.

Maci Bradford added the Terps' third goal of the night off a penalty corner in the 50th minute. She received a nice pass from Hollamon and deflected it into the net.
American scored their first goal of the game off a penalty corner in the 55th minute.
Maryland immediately responded less than a minute later with a point-blank shot by Rose to lead 4-1.
